Border In Nigeria Where People Pay Toll Gate To Pass.

Our correspondent was shock to discover a border between Lagos

State and Ogun State southwest Nigeria where some people took advantage of the fact that there was no bridge across the two border state and collect toll gate from pedestrians crossing either from Lagos to that part of Ogun State.

The affected area of the two state are ejigun town which is very close to Etele all of Ado-Odo Ota local government of Ogun State, the said border also lead to pako Command of Ipaja Ayobo of Alimosho local government of Lagos State.

Our findings also show that once cannot pass without paying that toll gate which is N30 Naira per head and N50 Naira for two person, one of the resident we spoke to said those that are collecting the money uses it to build the plank bridge that people are using now and that was the reason they claim for collecting the money till date and yet no body account for the money they realized on daily basis.

Base on our statistic nothing less than 600 people pass the toll gate on daily basis, so by our calculation they make well over 18,000.00 Naira per day.

It is our hope that government of both states will find a lasting solution to this because resident of the area are complaining about the extortion.
